The 6th March 2004 is the date when the PUCCINI E LA SUA LUCCA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL officially started its activity in Lucca, a town so rich of musical tradition. Composers like Nicolao Dorati, Cristoforo Malvezzi, Gioseffo Guami, Giovanni Lorenzo Gregari, Francesco Barsanti, Francesco Geminiani, Filippo Manfredi, Luigi Boccherini, Alfredo Catalani e Giacomo Puccini. Lucca land of musicians but no one loved as Giacomo Puccini: the greatness of his music is well known all over the world. Andrea Colombini, the artistic director, has strongly wished that the name of Giacomo Puccini was indissolubly linked to Lucca, the town where the great Maestro was born on the 22nd December 1858.
